Workshop led by Joanna Forbes L’Estrange - the composer of this choral re-imagining of the great concerto.

A Season To Sing re-imagines Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons. It was co-commissioned by fifty-five choirs worldwide – including Tyndale Choral Society: we first performed it in June 2025, and are delighted now to offer YOU the opportunity to learn and perform it with us, under the leadership of the composer herself.

Joanna Forbes L’Estrange, one of the country’s leading choral composers, says: “The Four Seasons is the first piece of music I can remember hearing from my childhood. I used to dance around the sitting room to it! I thought a great way to mark its 300th anniversary would be to make it possible for choirs to perform it. Vivaldi’s tunes are so magnificent they deserve to be sung!”

The 40-minute work, which weaves Bible verses, poetry, hymns, madrigals and sonnets into Vivaldi’s music, is bookended with Forbes L’Estrange’s own original settings of To everything there is a season. The whole piece is deliberately written to be singable by every type of choir, and is enormous fun
.

We are charging just £15 for this wonderful experience, which is part of the Chantry Centre’s 100th anniversary celebrations. Light refreshments included, bring your own lunch. Music scores will be available for free loan (or purchase) on the day.

School and youth groups are especially welcome and may register for free.
